Job Responsibilities

The Cleaner is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and orderly environment in assigned areas. This role involves performing a variety of cleaning tasks to ensure the premises are tidy, hygienic, and presentable at all times. The Cleaner will work in various settings, such as offices, schools, hospitals, hotels, or residential buildings, depending on the employer's needs.

Key Responsibilities:

General Cleaning:

Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors.

Dust and wipe down surfaces, including furniture, shelves, and fixtures.

Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, and mirrors.

Empty trash bins and dispose of waste properly.

Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using appropriate cleaning solutions.

Specialized Cleaning:

Clean and disinfect high-touch areas, such as door handles, light switches, and elevator buttons.

Perform deep cleaning tasks, such as shampooing carpets, stripping and waxing floors, and cleaning upholstery.

Clean and maintain kitchen areas, including appliances, countertops, and sinks.

Maintenance:

Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies as needed.

Report any maintenance issues or repairs required to the supervisor.

Ensure cleaning equipment is in good working condition and report any malfunctions.

Compliance:

Follow all health and safety regulations and guidelines.

Use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and according to instructions.

Adhere to company policies and procedures.

Customer Service:

Interact with clients, visitors, or staff in a polite and professional manner.

Respond to special cleaning requests or emergencies as needed.

Qualifications:

Education: No formal education required; on-the-job training is typically provided.

Experience: Previous cleaning experience is preferred but not mandatory.

Skills:

Attention to detail and thoroughness in cleaning tasks.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Good time management skills to complete tasks efficiently.

Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks and lift heavy objects if necessary.

Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, proper storage, and disposal methods.

Work Environment:

The Cleaner may work in various environments, including indoor and outdoor settings.

The role may involve exposure to cleaning chemicals, dust, and waste materials.

The job may require standing, bending, kneeling, and lifting for extended periods.

Working Hours:

Cleaners may work full-time or part-time hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, or holidays, depending on the employer's needs.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods.

Capability to lift and carry cleaning supplies and equipment, typically up to 25-50 pounds.

Manual dexterity to operate cleaning tools and equipment.
