The Cashier is responsible for processing transactions accurately and efficiently, maintaining a friendly and approachable demeanor, and providing excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
Transaction Processing:
Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions using the POS (Point of Sale) system.
Ensure accuracy in pricing, discounts, and product codes.
Customer Service:
Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner.
Assist customers with inquiries, including product information, store layout, and promotions.
Resolve customer complaints or direct them to the appropriate personnel.
Cash Handling:
Count money in cash drawers at the beginning and end of shifts.
Ensure sufficient change is available.
Balance the cash register and report discrepancies.
Store Maintenance:
Keep the checkout area clean, organized, and well-stocked.
Assist with restocking shelves, labeling products, and maintaining store appearance.
Administrative Duties:
Record daily transactions and prepare reports as required.
Assist with store opening and closing procedures.
Qualification &
Skills
1. Education & Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
Basic mathematics and numeracy skills.
Knowledge of basic accounting principles is a plus.
2. Experience:
Prior experience in retail, customer service, or cash handling is preferred but not mandatory.
Experience with Point-of-Sale (POS) systems is an advantage.
