A Dental Assistant supports dentists and dental hygienists in providing high-quality oral care to patients. This role involves assisting with procedures, preparing treatment rooms, sterilizing instruments, and ensuring patient comfort. Key Responsibilities:
Patient Care & Assistance:
Prepare patients for dental procedures and ensure their comfort.
Assist the dentist during examinations and treatments by handing instruments and materials.
Educate patients on oral hygiene, post-treatment care, and preventive care.
Clinical & Technical Support:
Sterilize dental instruments and maintain proper infection control procedures.
Set up treatment rooms with necessary equipment and materials before procedures.
Take and process dental X-rays as instructed by the dentist.
Administrative Duties:
Schedule patient appointments and manage dental records.
Handle patient billing, insurance claims, and payment processing.
Maintain inventory of dental supplies and order replacements as needed.
Lab Work & Equipment Handling:
Assist in making dental impressions for crowns, bridges, or dentures.
Maintain and operate dental equipment properly.

Skills
Requirements & Skills:
Certification or diploma in Dental Assisting (varies by state/country).
Experience as a Dental Assistant is preferred.
Knowledge of dental procedures, instruments, and sterilization techniques.
